Next Clubs

Welcome back from the holidays!

We are bouncing our way into our Grade 4 and 5 Basketball Season here at Voyageur.  We will begin practicing next week and games will begin in two weeks.  The Basketball season will wrap up with a Grade 5 Friendship Tournament at Buchanan School on Friday, March 3rd.  The boys will play in the morning and the girls in the afternoon.  Please see the Monthly Calendar page for a schedule of practices and games.

We are also beginning our Jump Rope Club next week for students in Grades 2 through 5.  Students can come out and practice the Jump Rope skills.  They can get their heart rates up by practicing individual or partner tricks and by using the long ropes.  This club will finish up with our annual Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser on Monday, February 27th in the afternoon.  (***Participation in Jump Rope Club does NOT mean that you have to do Jump Rope for Heart.***)  Please see the Monthly Calendar page for a schedule of Jump Rope Club times.

We hope to see a large number of students out to enjoy both clubs!!

Back in Action

Welcome back to everyone!  We hope you had a great summer!!

We are back into the swing of things with our Cross Country Running season.  We have another fantastic turn-out this year!  Thanks to the 47 students that have decided to try out this club to start the year!

We practice on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 11:45.  We have three races again this year.  Two District races at Isbister Park on September 22nd and 29th at approximately 4:00.  Also, our Divisional Race on October 6th at Assiniboine Park starting at approximately 12:15.

See you at the races!

Jump Rope for Heart

Our annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser is set to happen on the afternoon of February 29th.  Permission slips have been sent home and you may return them to get your fundraising package.  The quicker it comes in, the quicker you may start fundraising.

I have added a challenge for the students this year.  If the students raise over $5000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation I will do something for them.  Right now they are coming up with what I will have to do.  Some suggestions have been a pie in the face, dressing like a fairy, and wearing makeup and a tutu.  The final decision on their reward will be determined by the end of the week this week or early next week!

Please help them reach their goal for this very worthy cause!
